Information

As Microsoft has ended active development for Internet Explorer in January 2016, all versions of the Internet Explorer (IE) Web Browser will no longer be supported on Blackboard starting with the Q4 2018 upgrade in February 2019. Both students and faculty who are currently using Internet Explorer are strongly advised to switch to an alternate browser, as users who continue to utilize Internet Explorer at this time have reported issues with navigation and usability across the platform.

In the month of February 2019, Internet Explorer was used in 3% of total Blackboard sessions.

Some newer features in Blackboard may not work at all in Internet Explorer, including Attendance and Create Recording. Reported issues isolated to Internet Explorer, such as those related to: uploading files, submitting assignments, or viewing dates, will no longer be resolved by Blackboard Product Support.

We recommend switching to one of the following Browsers:

Google Chrome (used in 56% of all Blackboard sessions*)

Safari (used in 31% of all Blackboard sessions*)

Microsoft Edge (used in 7% of all Blackboard sessions*)

Mozilla Firefox (used in 2% of all Blackboard sessions*)

Both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox can be downloaded for free on any Operating System at their respective websites:

Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

Mozilla Firefox: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/

Safari is only available on Apple Operating Systems, and Edge is available only on Microsoft Operating Systems.

Please also make sure that you are using the latest version of your web browser to access. If you are using an unsupported or out-of-date browser, be aware that you may observe technical issues. Updating your web browser on a regular basis will ensure the best possible viewing experience. Contact IT Client Services at servicedesk@saintpeters.edu if you experience any issues with access or usage of tools in Blackboard.
