Body
Between 2018 and 2020, Blackboard Inline grading for Assignments used something called “New BOX View” to apply comments and markups to a student submission. This had significantly less functions than the tool that was used before, and many educators have reached out to Blackboard expressing their concerns with the lack of functionality on this tool. The new Bb Annotate tool has been developed as a replacement and is now available, containing a more intuitive layout and features for marking up and commenting on a student submission in Inline grading.
Can I see a demonstration/instructions on how to use this Tool?
Yes! Blackboard has created documentation on what file types can be used, as well as a short instructional video. Click here to access the documentation
Here is a short (2 minute) video from Blackboard on the features and functions of Bb Annotate:
What will happen to assignments that were annotated through the old "New Box View" tool?
All pre-existing annotations created through New Box View have been migrated and are visible in Bb Annotate. The instructor will be able to delete annotations as well as add new comments to any existing comments that had been created using New Box View.
