Overview
In structuring a Blackboard course, due dates for assessments and visibility date ranges for folders, items, and other components, are a key part of ensuring proper deployment and notification to students. The "Batch Edit" tool allows Course Instructors and Admins to view and alter these dates in a centralized area. This is especially useful in courses which contain many components containing visibility or due dates. This article documents both where to find and how to use this feature.

Information
In structuring a Blackboard course, Due Dates and Visibility Dates are a key part of ensuring proper deployment and notification to students. The Batch Edit tool allows course instructors to view and alter these dates in a centralized area.
To locate the Batch Edit area, enter a Blackboard course as an Instructor or Administrator, and click the ellipses towards the top of the Content tab, next to the magnifying glass. Then, select Batch Edit from the list of dropdown options:

Click here for documentation on the Batch Edit tool in Blackboard Ultra.
NOTE: If you have assessments containing both a due date and a visibility start date and/or a visibility end date that need to be adjusted, you may run into issues trying to update these components separately in your Blackboard Ultra course. The best way to address this is to perform your due date/visibility date updates for Release Conditions in the Batch Edit area.
In the Batch Edit area, expand folders/modules and locate the assessment which contains a due date and a visibility start/end date (or both). Click the Calendar icon on the right.

Here, you can change all three areas without having to leave the page - each time you adjust a value, you'll see a red error message appear below, but this will not prevent you from proceeding.

Once you have updated all the dates associated with the assessment as desired, the red error should clear and the "save" button on the right should be clickable (and if it's not, click on all 4 or 6 boxes that appear associated with that assessment, one at a time (both the date and time for each of the components) and when you do this, it should clear the red error text below and allow the "Save" box to be clicked:
