How To Add A Profile Picture (Avatar) On Blackboard Ultra

Blackboard Avatars allow you to share an image that will be visible to professors, students and classmates in your courses' discussion boards and other collaboration areas. This article will guide you through how to upload a profile picture to use as an avatar on Blackboard, as well other settings that can be explored in your Blackboard Profile.

If you are using the Blackboard app on a mobile device, you can follow the steps at this link to update your profile.

Images must be at least 50 x 50 pixels in dimension. If your image is not square, it will automatically crop from the middle. Acceptable file formats include GIF, PNG, and JPEG. Your new profile picture will be visible to your instructor in the roster and in grading areas, and to other classmates when you post in Discussions, Blogs, and Journals in Blackboard.
