Installing And Using The Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client

A VPN connection allows employees to access our internal network from off-campus, typically if you need access to systems like Colleague and Informer.  VPN access is not available to all employees by default: if you need access, you first need to submit a ticket to the Service Desk and written approval from your supervisor will be required before access can be granted.

Once that is done, we can proceed with downloading and installing the VPN client software using the following steps:

Go to https://vpn.saintpeters.edu (you can't be connected to the campus network for this step) and type in your SPU username and password.
You will be prompted to download the VPN, and should select AnyConnect VPN.
Download and install the application.
After installation finishes, open Cisco AnyConnect and type vpn.saintpeters.edu into the field as shown.  Click Connect and you will be prompted to log in with your SPU username and password.
Click on the Group drop-down menu and select SPC.EDU.
If you logged in successfully, you will see the application display a green checkmark as shown.  You are now connected to VPN and can use internal network resources as if you were on campus.
