Printing to Campus Printers (Papercut)

Follow these instructions to send and release(print) documents to the shared multi-function printers (MFPs) on campus using ChromeBox devices, Windows, or macOS or other devices.

IMPORTANT PRINTING SYSTEM UPDATE

Saint Peter’s University has simplified campus printing by replacing several older print queues with one unified queue. Previously, students printed using queues like LabApporto, or MobilePrint, while employees printed through the Department queue. These individual queues have now been consolidated into a single shared queue: SPU-Printers. Both students and employees will now use this unified queue when sending print jobs to any of the campus multifunction printers (MFPs).

This update does not affect employees or departments using smaller standalone HP desktop printers. Those devices will continue to operate as usual.

Overview

These instructions explain how to send and release(print)jobs to Saint Peter’s University’s shared multi-function printers (MFPs) using our print management system, Papercut.

You can print from:

  • ChromeBox devices in labs and shared computing areas
  • Windows laptops (typically faculty and staff)
  • macOS laptops (typically faculty and staff)
  • Apporto Virtual Desktop
  • Personal Device

Select a device type below for instruction on how to send a job to a printer from a variety of device types. Then jump to the "Print Release" Section for instructions on how to release or print your job when you arrive at the device.

Releasing Print Jobs from the Sharp MFP Devices.

Use these steps when releasing a queued print job.

  1. Release your print job at the printer

At the printer, present your student or employee ID card to the card reader attached to the device. This authenticates you and shows your pending print jobs.

  2. Log out when finished

Once your documents have printed, make sure you log out of the printer before leaving the device. This helps protect your account and prevents others from printing using your credentials.

⚠️ Important: If you walk away without logging out, the next person who uses the printer may still see your active session.
