Accessing Software via Apporto

Summary

Apporto is used to access software available to the Saint Peter’s community from your web browser. This article describes how to access and use individual virtualized software applications via Apporto. For a better experience, you may wish to choose the Apporto Desktop, which will allow you to run one or more Apporto applications within a simulated PC interface.

This article describes how to access and use individual virtualized software applications or an entire virtualized Windows desktop via Apporto.

Go to your Apps Dashboard and select the Apporto icon.
Click the App Store icon (the 4 pink squares on the left navigation bar).

Click on any listed application to open and use it in your browser.

If you'd prefer to simulate an entire computer instead of a single program, you can use Apporto Desktop to open a full Windows workstation in your browser.
The program you select will launch a new tab in your browser (not as an entirely separate application on your computer).

In the top left corner of the screen, you will see 4 icons. From left to right:

  • Toggle Full Screen
  • File Upload (uploads files from your local computer into Apporto Cloud)
  • File Download (Downloads files from Apporto Cloud to your local computer)
  • Mute/Unmute
You can close the tab when you are finished using the software.  Make sure you log out of the Apporto tab as well, especially if you are using a public computer.
