Information
In order to ensure you are able to take an Honorlock assessment using your device, we recommend the following:
BEFORE THE ASSESSMENT:
-
You will need to use a laptop or a desktop computer in order to take an Honorlock assessment. This can be a MacOS, Windows, or ChromeOS device, You will not be able to access and take the Honorlock assessment using a tablet (such as an iPad) or a mobile device (even if you have the Blackboard App installed).
-
Make sure your device has the Google Chrome web browser installed, and it is up to date.
-
Get and enable the Honorlock Browser Extension. Here’s the link: https://app.honorlock.com/install/extension.
-
Depending on the assessment settings, you may need a functional webcam and/or microphone. Make sure that you have these and they are working properly before entering the assessment.
-
Depending on the assessment settings, you may also be required to download and install the Honorlock Application for Mac or PC. Here are the links to this application:
-
HONORLOCK APP: (Mac Download): https://app.honorlock.com/desktop-application/mac/x64/download
-
HONORLOCK APP: (Windows Download): https://app.honorlock.com/desktop-application/windows/x64/download
-
Note: If you are using a ChromeOS device, you will not need to download a version of the Honorlock Application (but you will still need to enable the browser extension).
-
If you are planning on using a device that is owned or managed by Saint Peter's University for your assessment, you may be prevented from being able to download and install applications. If this is the case, contact IT Client Services at servicedesk@saintpeters.edu well in advance of the assessment, indicating you need to have the Honorlock Application installed.
-
You may see a “practice” assessment in your course if your professor created one. This practice assessment is there for you to check that your device works properly with Honorlock and that all required settings and permissions are enabled. Completing the practice assessment ahead of time helps you avoid technical issues and ensures you can start your real assessment without delay. Be sure to take the practice assessment well before your scheduled Honorlock exam.
DURING/AFTER THE ASSESSMENT
-
We advise you to make sure your device is plugged in/charged and has a strong internet connection, and close out all other windows, tabs and applications before entering an Honorlock Assessment.
-
When you click to launch the assessment, Honorlock will check your browser and device to ensure the Application and Extension are installed and enabled, providing you links to download/enable these if they are not detected. Honorlock may also require you to enable your webcam and microphone.
-
During an Honorlock Assessment, a live chat function is available to you for support if you encounter any technical issues. You will also be able to report any issues following completion of the assessment.
