Classroom Technology: How to Use the Computer in your Classroom

Overview

There are several different types of classroom setups at Saint Peter's University. This article contains videos that identify features of each classroom type, as well as demonstrate how to use the control panels in each classroom type to project/display your class materials to your students.

Information

There are 5 common classroom types at Saint Peter's University. For each type of classroom setup, we have created a section below containing short (roughly 2-minute) video demonstration of how to use the podium and control panel to display content and video. 

Here is a list containing all the classrooms at Saint Peter's, indicating the classroom type for each. 

Classic: Includes a pull-down screen at the front of the classroom, and a projector mounted on the ceiling. The display panel to control what is shown on the projector screen is located on the podium itself.  

Traditional: Includes a pull-down screen at the front of the classroom, and a projector mounted on the ceiling. The display panel to control what is shown on the projector screen is located on the wall near the podium. 

Standard: includes a flat-screen display at the front of the classroom instead of a projector. The display panel to control what is shown on the front flat-screen display is located on the wall near the podium. 

Hyflex: Includes a flat-screen display at the front of the classroom instead of a projector, a flat-screen display at the back of the classroom ("confidence monitor"), a front camera, and microphones and speakers mounted from the ceiling. The display panel to control what is shown on both the front and rear screens is located on the wall near the podium. 

Dual Hyflex: Includes a flat-screen display at the front of the classroom instead of a projector, a flat-screen display at the back of the classroom ("confidence monitor"), a front camera, a rear camera, and microphones and speakers mounted from the ceiling. The display panel to control what is shown on both the front and rear screens is located on the wall near the podium. 

 

CLASSIC CLASSROOMS

Additional Notes on Classic Classrooms: 

  • Airtame is not available in Classic Classrooms. If you need to connect your laptop or device, make sure to bring an adapter that works with your device and connects to the VGA cable in the podium. 

 

TRADITIONAL CLASSROOMS
